Introduction

Yawm al-Qīyāmah (Arabic: يوم القيامة‎ literally: "Day of the Resurrection") is the Arabic name for the Last Judgement The day of Judgement will be ushered in with the sound of the trumpet, signalling the end of the Duniyah and the beginning of the Hearafter. The prophetic Hadiths tell us that this day will come on Jummah.[1] Every living creature will die on the first blow of the trumpet except a few.[2] It will be a day that lasts 50,000 years[3], and the horrors of that day will make a childs hair turn grey[4] and the people to run around as if they where drunk [citation needed]. On this day the idols will be asked by Allah if they wanted to be worshipped, and they will answer in front of the whole of humanity that they did'nt even know they were being worshipped. On that day the sinners will be given their punishment, and the believers there due.

[edit] Signs of the Day of Judgment

See main article Signs of the Day of Judgement

  • There are many signs leading up to the day of Judgment, there will be minor signs and major signs. Although we know of the signs, no one except Allah knows when the hour will be.

Men ask thee concerning the Hour: Say, "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone)": and what will make thee understand?- perchance the Hour is nigh!

Qur'anQur'an, 033:063

[edit] When will the day of Judgement Occur

The prophet was shown what Friday (Jummah looked like. It was like a bright shiny mirror, but it had a black spot. When the prophet asked what this black spot was, he was told it was Qiyama. In another narration we are told that the animals become nervous on Jummah because they know that this is the day that Qiyam can fall on . The prophet also said that nobody knows when the day will be [citation needed]

[edit] The Sound of the Trumpet

The day of Judgment will be ushered in by the sound of the trumpet whom Israfil holds to his lips[5], waiting for the command of Allah.[6]

Allah says in the Qu'ran,

And (remind them of) the Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and the earth will start in fear, save him whom Allah willeth. And all come unto Him, humbled.

Qur'anQur'an, 027:087

[edit] The Ressurection

On that day , people will be ressurected from their Graves, the young, old, men , women, the believers and the unbelievers. Abu Huriyah narrated that even the beasts will brought forward on that day. And the disbelievers will say "I wish i were but dirt, and had never walked on the face of the earth" such will be their fear.

Muhammed Image:Saws.gif will be the first to rise from his grave

The people will be in their original state, barefoot, naked and uncircumsised. When Aisha RA heard this she asked the prophet Image:Saws.gif about their nakedness, and the prophet Image:Saws.gif replied that they would be too terrified to notice.

Then the people will be clothed, and the first to be clothed will be Ibrahim, and the prophet Muhammed Image:Saws.gif will be clothed in a cloak from Jennah [citation needed]

The people will reflect on how short their time was in the Duniyah, like a teabreak compared to the 50,000 years that is Qiyama.

[edit] Destruction of the Universe

On the Hour, the earth, skies and the sea will burn and be destoryed, and Allah will roll the lowest of the seven heavens like a scroll.[7]

  • The Earth will throw up its contents.[8]. It will convulse and quake and its mountains crushed to dust.[9]
  • The Mountains will be pulverised,[10] they will shake and become like shifting dunes[11]. They will be like a mirage[12], and the earth will be laid bare, or emerging[13] , as they will be scattered like dust[14]. Not one Mountain will remain[15]. Allah says in Surah al-Qari'a, ayah 5 "And the mountains will be like carded wool." And it will occur with just a single blow.[16]
  • Allah says in the Qu'ran "When the seas are filled with flame", "when the oceans flood and overflow"[17] Yawm al-Qiyamah will take place.
  • And the Heavens will split usunder. The stars will be extinguished [18], and the heavns will sway to and fro [19]. This is the promise of Allah as the heavens will be frail [20]. And on that day the sky, or universe, will be like molten brass[21], and it will be red like dregs of oil.[22]. For they do not measure Allah with his true measure, as on that day Allah will fold up the heavens in his right hand , like a scroll.[23] This heaven which is the lowest of the seven heavens, all that we see, the galaxies, the stars, the planets, all of which is like a ring in the desert compared to the remaining six heavens. Finally the sky will burst open as the Earth is flattened and disgorges that which is inside.
  • The Day of Judgment will also witness immense changes and destruction to the stars and the moon. The Sun will be blackened,[24] and the stars will be strewn around and darkened, falling in rapid succession[25], before being extinguished.[26] And the Sun and the Moon will fuse together. There will be no where to run, no place will be safe, on that Day.[27]

[edit] The witness of all those that where Deified

On the Day of Judgement Allah will ask the all those that where worshiped beside Allah, if they knew, and wanted to be worshiped. Allah will ask the Angels, the idols of stone and wood, he will ask Shaytan, and so will Jesus. Allah already knows the answer to these question, but these questions will be for the benefit of the whole of mankind, who will be listening.

The Idols of Stone and Wood will say they didn't even know they where being worshipped. The angels will say that they didn't want to be worshipped, and that all the sightings of those who said they saw Angels were in fact Jinn.

Allah will ask Jesus "Did you ask man to worship you and your mother". Jesus will reply "It was not for me to say something I had no right to say", he will say that it was an idea so absurd that it hadn't even crossed his mind.[28]

Allah will then turn to the weak, and those that led the weak. The weak will argue that they where led, but Allah will confirm that the leaders will carry only their own sin, and the leaders will tell those whom they led, that they had the ability to find the truth but that they choose not to. For being weak is not an excuse, the ability to choose is what singles them out as Beni Adam.

[edit] The punishment on that day

The Quran uses words such as the Great Day, the Heavy Day, the Difficult Day to describe The Day of Judgement . For on that day, there will be no kinship ties, and on the second blowing of the trumpet, a man will run from his brother, his mother and father, his wife and his children. Nursing Mothers will abandon their children, and pregnant women will loose their unborn. It will be a day where the nonbelievers would be willing to throw their children into the fire, just to save themselves.

[edit] The Punishment for the unbelievers

Allah will ask the disbelievers. "Would you be willing to pay the weight of the whole world in Gold to save yourself". They will reply yes. Allah will say to them ,that it is too late, and in the Duniyah I asked for much less, just a little rememberance of Allah

For the disbelievers Qiyama will be pitch black, and the Quran tells us that this will be a day when the oppressor bites his own hands to the bone. For Allah says that the greatest loss is the one who thought they were doing good deeds, but they were worthless. "The Ones who disbelieved are like a mirage in the desert. And Allah tells us that they will are not oppressed on Qiyama, but that they oppressed themselves with their kufr

On that day Allah will bring about justice to those that transgressed, on that day there will be many who's appeals Allah will ignore, and they will be ignored

  • It is related by Al-Bukhari that those who have money but don't pay zakat will be squeezed by a snake. Another narration records that the wealth will be chained to the transgressers neck, and yet another relation by Muslim says that gold and silver will be heated and turned into plates and the oppressor will be branded on the forehead day in day out for the 50,000 years of Qiyama[citation needed]
  • Al-kibb (arrogance). It is narrated that those who have just a small amount of arrogance won't even smell paradise, because a persons value and worth is from Allah and Allah alone [citation needed]

It is also narrated that those who listen to someones private conversations will have molten metal poured into their ears.[citation needed]

[edit] Those Whom Allah Will Not Speak To

It is narrated by Abu Dharr that the prophet Image:Saws.gif said that 3 people will be ignored on the Day of Resurrection.[29] Those people are:

1. Al-Nasbil - those who wore long clothes dragging behind them out of pride

2. The one who sold goods by false oaths

3. The person who reminds others of the favours he has done (you remember when i did this, and that for you)

In another Hadith[30] the following will be ignored by Allah,

1. Those that did not give their excess water to a traveller - as this excess water belongs to a traveller by right

2. Someone who makes an oath on merchandise after Asr - i.e those who lie in order to get rid of the goods quickly

3. Someone who gives Bayah to the Imam when times are good, but changes allegiance when times are difficult

In another Hadith it is recorded that the following people who commit crimes unnecessarily, Allah will not speak with.[31] Those people are:

1. An old man who commits Zina

2. A King who lies

3. A poor person who is arrogant.

According to the narration of Ahmed[citation needed],

1. Those that are cruel to their parents

2. The women who is masculine like a man

3. The man who is indifferent to his families sins.
