MuslimWiki:Introduction
From Mw
Asalamalykum
The Muslim Wikipedia is an online Encyclopedia, that allows anybody who logs in to edit any of the pages (except the protected pages).
I hear you asking "So does that mean anyone can write any rubbish on here".
Well the simple answer is NO.
Firstly there are guidelines, such as all work has to be sourced and referenced.
Secondly the MuslimWikipedia has a NPOV policy, i.e this isn't the place for Peoples points of view.
Thirdly the MuslimWikipedia is to present Islam, its History, its people, its tenets, its faith, its ideas in the CORRECT light, and hence negative views of Islam are against the Muslim Wikipedias policies.
"Ok" I here you say, "that is all well and good but how do you stop someone writing any old rubbish"?
Both the Administrators and the community can see what changes have been introduced, and can flag bad posts. If the editor refuses to make the changes as per the policy then the Muslim Wikipedia can temporarily or permanently ban a User including his IP.
But Inshallah we as a Muslim Community are here to present Islam using all the technologies at are disposal.
"So why are certain pages protected"?
Some pages need NO editing such as the Quran, or the 99 names of Allah. If changes to these pages are required then a request can be made to one of the Administrators
