• 8^th January 1916 (2^nd Rabbi al-Awwal 1334) - World War I: Allied forces, defeated by Ottoman Caliphate's army, withdraw from Gallipoli.
• 8^th January 1926 (23^rd Jumada al-Thanni 1344) - Abdul-Aziz ibn Saud becomes the King of Hejaz and renames it Saudi Arabia.
• 8^th January 1739 (27^th Ramadhan 1151) Ahmed Shah Bahadur on his invasion of Lahore reached the bank of the Ravi River
