Introduction
Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates. It has undergone a massive transformation from the small fishing village it was in the 1950's. It has embarked on huge infrastructure projects to turn the city into a thriving metropolis whose revenue will be knowledge bases. Currently under construction are more than 30 Supertalls, which result in the world's highest concentration of skyscrapers over 300 meters in height.
Dubai has also embarked on various Mega Projects.

In the 18th century Dubai was a fishing village, inhabited by the Bani Yas tribe. In the 19th century some 800 members of the Bani Yas, known as the Al Bu Falasah, moved north and settled in Dubai.
