• 24^th July 1920 (8^th Dhul-Qadah 1338) - French General Henri Gouraud, enters Damascus and stands over Saladin's tomb, and kicking it and says "Awake Saladin, we have returned. My presence here consecrates the victory of the Cross over the Crescent."
