"High above all is Allah, the King, the Truth! Be not in haste with the Qur'an before its revelation to thee is completed, but say, "O my Lord! advance me in knowledge."

Say: "O Allah. [Lord of Power] (And Rule), Thou givest power to whom Thou pleasest, and Thou strippest off power from whom Thou pleasest: Thou enduest with honour whom Thou pleasest, and Thou bringest low whom Thou pleasest: In Thy hand is all good. Verily, over all things Thou hast power."

"Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things."

Al-Malik has three similar meanings

  • Al-Malik - the King
  • Al-Malik - The master and owner
  • Alladhi Lahu l Mulk - The one to whom belongs the dominon

He is described with the attribute of being the master and owner. These are attributes describing his grandeur and majesty and both his omnipotence and governance and how he governs. He is the one who directs all of the affairs to do with creation, everything is subservient to him, owned by him and in need of him. Whereas Allah is in need of no one
