Adhan (Arabic: (أَذَان))is the call to salah (prayer) and is called in arabic language. The person who calls the Adhan is called the Mu'adhin. The root of the word is 'dn "to permit", and another derivative of this word is udun, meaning "ear".

Recital Arabic Transliteration Translation
4x* الله اكبر Allāhu Akbar God is the greatest
2x اشهد ان لا اله الا الله Ash-hadu anna allā ilāha illallāh I bear witness that there is no God except Allah
2x اشهد ان محمد الرسول الله Ash-hadu anna Muhammadur rasūlullāh I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
2x حي على الصلاة Hayya 'alas-salāt Make haste towards prayer
2x حي على الفلاح Hayya 'alal-falāh Make haste towards welfare
2x الصلاة خير من النوم Aṣ-ṣalātu khayru min an-naūm Prayer is better than sleep** (Fajr prayer only)
2x حي على خير العمل Hayya 'alā khayril-'amal Make haste towards prayer
2x الله اكبر Allāhu akbar Allah is more greater
1x**** لا اله الا الله Lā ilāha illallāh There is no God except Allah



Dua after adhan is optinally and it is:


اللهمرب هذه الدعوة التامة والصلاة القائمة

Allahumma rabba hadhi-hid dawa-tit-tamma wa-salatil qae-ma

O Allah! Lord of this complete call and prayers of ours, by the blessing of it


آت محمداً الوسيلة و الفضيل

Ati muhammadanil wasilata wal fadeela

Give to Muhammad his eternal rights of intercession


وابعثه مقاماً محموداً الذي وعدت

Wab ath-hu maqamam-mahmuda-nil ladhi wa at-ta

And raise him to the promised rank you have promised him
