`Abdul Bâsit Muhammad `Abd us-Samad (Arabic: عبدالباسط عبدالصمد) was an Egyptian reciter of the Qur`an. He was born in the city of Armant in the year 1927 CE (1345 AH) and died in the year 1988 CE (1408 AH). He is well known for his recitation of the Qur`an. By the age of ten years, Abdul Basit memorized the entire Qur`an.
