`Aishah bint Abi Bakr
From Mw
Introduction Aisha was the most beloved of the Prophet's wives during their marriage. She was a great scholar and was learned in fiqh and hadith. There where numerous narrations of her tremendous piety, charity and tender heartedness. Her life was colourful, having been married to the Prophet, until his demise, and her life in Medina afterwards. She is one of the few women to be given the news of paradise and was one of the few people who were refered to in the Qu'ran.

[edit] Aisha's Early Years
Aisha was born in 614 and died in the year 58 Hijirah on the 17th of Ramadan at the age of 66.
[edit] Marriage to the Prophet
Our beloved Mother, Hadhrat Aisha (Radhiallahu Anha) was 9 years of age at the time of the consummation of her marriage with Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam). This is proved from dozens of different authentic ahadith, narrated from many different Sahabah. Certain modernists, in an attempt to distort this fact have tried to cast doubt on the authenticity of this narration by questioning the reliability of one narrator, however they seem to have (deliberately) overlooked the fact that this very same narration is reported by over a dozen other reliable reporters.
There is absolutely no reason for us to try to deny or apologize for the marriage of Hadhrat Aisha (Radhiallahu anha) at this young age. The women of that time would mature much quicker, thus once she matured her marriage was consummated.
And Allah Ta'ala knows best

[edit] Aisha's and Charity
Abdullah bin Zubair mentioned that Aishah and her sister Asma were both very large-hearted and benevolent. They spent all that they would receive in the Name of Allah. (GWI p 46)
On one occassion , at one sitting Aisha gave away 70,000 Dirhams in charity for Allah. One evening she received 1,00,000 Dirhams from Amir Mu'awiyah who was in Syria and by nightfall the entire sum had gone to charity. On another occasion Abdullah bin Zubair sent her 1,00,000 Dirhams and similarly they were given away as early as possible.
Aisha was very tenderhearted and broke into tears easily. On one occassion when a begger woman carrying two small children came the women gave one each to the children and started eating one herself. One of the children ate his share quickly and started looking longingly at his mother eating her date. The women could not bear her child's hunger and took the date from her mouth, broke it into two halves, and gave a piece to each of the children. When Aisha saw this heartrendering scene she could not contain her tears (GWI p46)
[edit] Aisha as a Scholar
Aisha is credited with narrating 2210, Ahadith third only to Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab and Abu Hurairah.
Imam Thahbi wrote that Aishah was superior to all other women in her knowledge and wisdom. She was a theologian of the highest order.
During the caliphate of the Khulfa-u-Rashideen (first four caliphs) her Fatawa were accepted. Once someone asked Masrooq if Aisha had mastery over the Shari'ah laws regarding inheritance. He swore that he had personally seen revered companions asking her questions about the finer points of the laws of inheritance
