'Abd al-Wahhab (115-1201/1703-1787) was born in 'Uyanah in Arabia into the Tamim branch of the Banu Sinan Tribe

He studied in Medina
Wahhab called to the return of Islam according to the Qu'ran and Sunnah, and one the favour of the ruler Muhammad Ibn Sa'ud who championed the reform.
Wahhab doctrine was founded on the Salaf (The Sahaba and the Tabioon - the next generation)
Various sects and non muslims use Wahhabs name to describe Salafism in a derogatory way i.e wahhabis.
